About the Role
The Research Committee Member plays an important role in advancing FAC’s research
priorities that reflect the real-world experiences of people living with fibromyalgia.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to discussions that shape FAC’s research Committee’s priorities and initiatives
• Review and provide feedback on research proposals, tools, and knowledge translation materials
• Support the development of patient-oriented research approaches
• Help identify gaps in fibromyalgia research, particularly related to widespread pain, diagnosis, and quality of life and help fill those gaps with blog articles and lay summaries.
• Collaborate with fellow committee members to write and edit Lay Summaries on recent research studies on fibromyalgia.
• Promote inclusive, respectful, and diverse perspectives in research activities
• Participate in virtual meetings and occasional email consultations

Qualifications & Experience

• Lived experience with fibromyalgia and/or experience in health research, healthcare, or related fields
• Interest in patient-oriented research and improving health outcomes
• Ability to review materials and provide thoughtful, constructive feedback
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Assets (Not Required)

•  Familiarity with research methods or knowledge translation
