Illumination 2026

Fibromyalgia Association Canada (FAC) would like to express its most HEARTFELT THANK YOU to everyone who lit their buildings and/or landmarks PURPLE to raise awareness for fibromyalgia
Illumination Campaign
In honour of International Fibromyalgia Awareness Month and International Fibromyalgia Awareness Day on May 12th, Fibromyalgia Association Canada (FAC) is proud to launch our 2026 Illumination Campaign. Each year, landmarks and buildings across Canada light up in purple to raise awareness of fibromyalgia and to show solidarity with the two to three million Canadians living with this condition.
International Fibromyalgia Awareness Month and Fibromyalgia Awareness Day are times to raise awareness, share knowledge, and recognize how far we have come in the ongoing effort to improve understanding, recognition, and care for fibromyalgia.
Fibromyalgia may be invisible, but we are not.
In 2026, buildings and landmarks across Canada once again joined Fibromyalgia Association Canada by lighting up in purple throughout May, helping to shine a visible light on an often misunderstood and invisible condition and sending a powerful message of support to the fibromyalgia community.
Help Us Illuminate Fibromyalgia
If you would like to participate in this initiative, we invite you to register your building or landmark to be included in FAC’s 2027 Illumination Campaign. Please email admin@fibrocanada.ca to add your location. We look forward to continuing to grow this meaningful campaign with communities across the country.
Municipal Support and Proclamations
Fibromyalgia Association Canada (FAC) extends its heartfelt thanks to all municipalities that lit up their buildings and landmarks in purple to recognize fibromyalgia and support awareness efforts.
If you would like your municipality to proclaim May 12 as Fibromyalgia Awareness Day, you can download our sample proclamation to help get started.
