{"id":763,"date":"2021-12-01T14:36:22","date_gmt":"2021-12-01T19:36:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.fibrocanada.ca\/?page_id=763"},"modified":"2021-12-01T14:36:22","modified_gmt":"2021-12-01T19:36:22","slug":"fm-patients-bill-of-rights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fibrocanada.ca\/fr\/fm-patients-bill-of-rights","title":{"rendered":"D\u00e9claration des droits des patients FM"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color\" id=\"know-your-patient-rights\" style=\"color:#6a0dad\"><strong>CONNAISSEZ VOS DROITS EN TANT QUE PATIENT<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"in-canada-the-canada-health-act-cha-of-1984-guides-the-provisions-of-universal-health-care-which-is-delivered-through-the-provincial-and-territorial-government-s-ministry-of-health-each-province-and-territory-is-responsible-for-providing-its-residents-with-publicly-funded-health-care-insurance-and-has-its-own-unique-documented-patients-bill-of-rights-the-cha-establishes-criteria-and-conditions-related-to-insured-health-services-and-extended-health-care-services-that-the-provinces-and-territories-must-fulfill-which-protect-promote-and-restore-the-physical-and-mental-well-being-of-residents-of-canada-and-to-facilitate-reasonable-access-to-health-services-without-financial-or-other-barriers-in-order-to-receive-the-full-federal-cash-contribution-under-the-canada-health-transfer-cht\" style=\"font-size:18px\">In Canada,&nbsp; the&nbsp;<strong>Canada Health Act<\/strong>&nbsp;(CHA) of 1984 guides the provisions of&nbsp;<em>universal<\/em>&nbsp;health care, which&nbsp;is delivered through the provincial and territorial government's Ministry of Health.&nbsp; Each province and territory is responsible for providing its residents with publicly funded health care insurance and has its own, unique documented Patients' Bill of Rights.&nbsp; The CHA establishes criteria and conditions related to insured health services and extended health care services that the provinces and territories must fulfill which \"protect, promote and restore the physical and mental well-being of residents of Canada and to facilitate reasonable access to health services without financial or other barriers,\" in order to receive the full federal cash contribution under the Canada Health Transfer (CHT).&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"a-patient-s-bill-of-rights-is-a-pathway-to-implement-a-best-practices-approach-to-all-vested-parties-it-specifies-what-is-expected-from-each-participant-namely-the-patient-the-physician-and-the-health-care-provider-unfortunately-many-canadians-do-not-know-their-rights-within-their-provincial-territorial-health-care-system-the-goals-of-having-a-patient-s-bill-of-rights-are-to\" style=\"font-size:18px\">A&nbsp;<strong>Patient\u2019s Bill of Rights<\/strong>&nbsp;is a pathway to implement a&nbsp;<em>best practices<\/em>&nbsp;approach to all vested parties.&nbsp; It specifies what is expected from each participant, namely the patient, the physician, and the health care provider.&nbsp;&nbsp;Unfortunately,&nbsp;many Canadians do not know their rights within their provincial\/territorial&nbsp; health care system.&nbsp;&nbsp;The goals of having a Patient's Bill of Rights are to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol style=\"font-size:18px\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>donner un sentiment de contr\u00f4le au patient ou lui donner du pouvoir,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>permettre une meilleure communication et une meilleure participation du patient avec le m\u00e9decin et les prestataires de soins de sant\u00e9,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>veiller \u00e0 ce que le patient ne se sente pas domin\u00e9 par le m\u00e9decin mais \u00e9gal,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>permettre et aider \u00e0 la capacit\u00e9 d'avoir une discussion libre sur des questions de sant\u00e9 telles que les tests, le diagnostic et les protocoles de traitement,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>outline each participant's role and responsibilities, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>cr\u00e9er des lignes directrices pour la prestation de services.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"there-are-two-types-of-rights-one-must-consider-when-discussing-a-patient-s-bill-of-rights-individual-and-collective-rights-one-must-understand-the-difference-to-best-represent-ourselves-and-advocate-for-our-needs-individual-rights-pertain-to-what-a-person-is-entitled-to-and-or-should-expect-in-their-experiences-examples-of-individual-rights-are\" style=\"font-size:18px\">There are two types of rights one must consider when discussing a patient's bill of rights -<em>individual&nbsp;<\/em>et&nbsp;<em>collective&nbsp;<\/em>rights. One must understand the difference to best represent ourselves and advocate for our needs.&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Individual rights<\/strong>&nbsp;pertain to what a person is entitled to and\/or should expect in their experiences.&nbsp; Examples of individual rights are:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"font-size:18px\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>le droit \u00e0 l'information,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>le droit de conna\u00eetre votre diagnostic,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>le droit au traitement,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>le droit \u00e0 la vie priv\u00e9e et \u00e0 la confidentialit\u00e9.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\" id=\"collective-rights-are-the-rights-a-population-is-entitled-to-as-a-society-they-are-determined-by-political-and-social-factors-collective-rights-can-speak-to-the-broad-availability-and-services-that-are-available-examples-of-collective-rights-would-be-as-follows\" style=\"font-size:18px\">Les <strong>droits collectifs<\/strong>\u00a0sont les droits auxquels une population a droit en tant que soci\u00e9t\u00e9. Voici des exemples de droits collectifs\u00a0:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"font-size:18px\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>droit d'acc\u00e8s aux soins de sant\u00e9<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>droit \u00e0 l'\u00e9galit\u00e9 d'acc\u00e8s aux soins de sant\u00e9, peu importe la zone g\u00e9ographique au Canada<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>droit aux soins de sant\u00e9, sans discrimination, ind\u00e9pendamment du sexe, de la race, de la religion, de l\u2019orientation et des croyances.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"because-fibromyalgia-is-a-complex-multisystemic-chronic-invisible-illness-persons-with-fibromyalgia-experience-unique-medical-challenges-and-needs-we-primarily-want-to-be-heard-clearly-understood-and-taken-seriously-we-want-to-be-treated-well-and-respected-in-all-the-aspects-of-our-capabilities-and-disabilities-when-seeking-emergency-medical-help-for-out-of-control-pain-patients-with-fibromyalgia-have-historically-been-dismissed-and-treated-with-a-lack-of-respect-that-has-shattered-their-dignity-and-ability-to-access-treatment-many-persons-with-fibromyalgia-have-also-been-told-by-medical-professionals-that-it-s-all-in-your-head-or-you-re-crazy\" style=\"font-size:18px\">Parce que la fibromyalgie est une maladie complexe, multisyst\u00e9mique, chronique et invisible, les personnes atteintes de fibromyalgie font face \u00e0 des d\u00e9fis et des besoins m\u00e9dicaux uniques.
