While originally developed to treat opioid and alcohol dependence at higher doses, low doses of naltrexone are being studied for their potential to help reduce pain, improve sleep, and enhance overall quality of life in some people with fibromyalgia.

Although research is still developing and LDN is not yet considered a standard treatment for fibromyalgia, early studies suggest it may work by influencing the immune system and reducing inflammation in the nervous system. Some individuals with fibromyalgia report improvements in symptoms such as pain, fatigue, and brain fog when using LDN under medical supervision.

This fact sheet provides an overview of what LDN is, how it may work, and what current research says about its potential role in fibromyalgia care.

8-FAC-Sheet-Low-Dose-Naltrexone-EN

FAC-Sheet-Low-Dose-Naltrexone-EN (33 downloads )

Low-Dose Naltrexone (LDN) is an emerging treatment option that has gained growing interest among researchers and clinicians working with people living with fibromyalgia.

[20,47,287
83,84
post-23528","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-education-highlights","category-fact-sheet","category-sociable","tag-fact-sheet","tag-medications","pmpro-has-access
["GET
